Jolsyn ate most of her breakfast: oatmeal and dried cranberries.  For lunch she ate half of ground burger, ate elbow noodles with peas and cheese, and ate applesauce.

Joslyn kept telling Emily that she was "building pirate" with the legos.  Emily looked at her like 'what are you talking about?'  I didn't know either, but I just kind of figured it was something she picked up from Colt.  :)

Nora got a bit frustrated with Joslyn giving, taking, pulling, pushing, poking, mauling.......ok, you get the idea.  Then Joslyn was very unhappy because Nora was not enjoying her attention.  :)  It's kind of a vicious circle isn't it?  However, as you can see in the picture below Joslyn still has her agenda with Nora and you can see her being the little mommy.  :)

Another one of Joslyn favorite outside games is taking the leaves and filling any little hole she can find. The hole she found today was on the handle of the wagon and she was just cramming it full of pieces of leaves.  You can actually see the hole on the handle in the picture below.

All the kids were playing with the neighbor's dog.  They like to playfully poke grass on his nose and he seems to like it because he always comes back for more.

Joslyn had pulled Nora in the wagon to the far corner of the lawn.  I took this picture and asked her what she was doing; "I'm loving on her!!"  In a tone that said it should be pretty obvious!  :)

Joslyn ate half of her breakfast: blueberry bread pudding and blueberries.  For lunch she had 2nd's on turkey burger sandwich, ate green beans, and pineapple.

First thing this morning Joslyn thunked Kenzie with the legos toy and then screamed like a wild thing when I intervened.  So she spent some time in the back room alone.  We brought her back out after an attitude adjustment and she was awesome the rest of the morning.  It would be nice if it always worked like that.  :)

When I am sitting she frequently likes to stick her finger in one of the holes in my Crocs.  Then I'll try to pinch her finger with my toes and she gets a kick out of that.

She did her usual building with the legos again of course.  She built a tall house and used some 'roof' pieces that are in the set.  She called it "my house" and she had "windows" in it too.

She was having some ongoing dialogue while wrapping and playing with the dolls.  "Wrap my babies up...."  It's fun when they do that because you can hear their little brains working.  Now if my ears just worked better so I could hear more.  :)

I may have mentioned this before, but Joslyn is always a great helper as we prepare to come inside for lunch following outdoor play.  We tell them it's time to sit on the patio and take their shoes off.  She always helps Thomas with his and sometimes Peyton.  This morning she did Peyton's and then headed indoors.  Thomas looked up like "hey, where'd my helper go?" and scooted over in front of Morgan and stuck his foot in her face for some help.  :)   (And she did.)

Joslyn ate jelly toast and 2nd's on dried mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate beef-bean burrito, bite of sweet potatoes, and ate tropical fruit.

Several times this morning she talked about Colt and riding the school bus.  And she was saying, "Colt's gonna go on school bus!"  I think she's impressed.   :)

She gave Riley a hug first thing this morning and Riley hugged her back.  It was very sweet.  Then she went with Kenzie to jump on the mattress in the back room.  That actually lasted way longer than we thought it would.  (Probably 15-20 minutes before the howling began.)

Speaking of howling, she had lots of fun chasing bubbles until she had a head-on collision with Morgan.  She laid on the bench on the patio, sucked her thumb, and watched the other ones chase bubbles.  She eventually re-entered the danger zone, but with much caution.  They actually do pretty good and we have minimal collisions; because at first glance it appears that no one is paying attention to anything except the bubbles flying in the air.  :)

She found some little twigs to play with and she said it was "my keys."  She was sticking the twig in any hole she could find.

Here's another picture of Joslyn doing one of her many legos creations.  She loves doing this and is a great example to the other kids of how we can play with the legos.  :)  Way to go Joslyn!  Thomas joined her and they were lining up their creations on the window sill.

Joslyn ate dried plums and 2nd's on cinnamon roll for breakfast.  For lunch she ate scrambled eggs, half of waffle, no hash browns, and ate half of cantaloupe serving.

Joslyn gave Mia the sweetest love when she got here this morning.  Mia just loved it and literally squealed with delight.  So adorable.

Joslyn had a grip on Nora's hand and was trying to get her to push on the pop-up toy to make it work.  She was trying hard to help her, but the help wasn't being received in an appreciative manner.  :)

I got on Nora's case at lunch time because she was throwing her food on the floor and Joslyn started crying.  Her look said, "How dare you talk to my Nora like that?"  :)

Everyone had fun filling their dump trucks with leaves that the wind blew in the yard and then zooming around the yard and up and down the sidewalk.

We thought this was a cute picture of everyone gathered around baby Noah getting acquainted with the new guy.  :)

Joslyn ate kix cereal and a bite of mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ham sandwich, steamed broccoli, and mandarin oranges.

Joslyn was copying Emily and saying, "Gary wary...."  Emily likes to rhyme words and especially names and so Joslyn joined in with her.  :)

The kids were all enjoying reading lots of books this morning and didn't want story time to be over.  Morgan said, "We want more stories."  So we read more stories.  Joslyn was sitting between Emily and Thomas and she had her arm around their shoulders.  It was quite cute, but they did not really appreciate it.  :)

As we were washing everyone up after lunch I splashed water on Lauralea (yes it was intentional) and so she was splashing me back.  Joslyn came to my defense and said, "Don't splash him!"  :)

Outside she was pushing the dump trucks and was going too fast, hit a bump, and just about had a bad wreck.  She didn't get hurt and we were really laughing.  She liked that and said, "I'm funny!"  :)

Isn't this a cute picture of Joslyn.  She had on the apron and chef's hat and was playing with the food toys.  Look at her eyes; she is watching herself in the mirror.  :)   (I just now noticed Nora down in the right hand corner.)

Joslyn ate brown rice and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of her meatloaf, ate french bread, bite of carrots and bite of dried apricots.

I guess Joslyn had taken off her vest yesterday and it was laying on the floor.  I had apparently picked it up, not recognized it, and just put it on the shelf with the doll dress-up clothes.  Joslyn found it on the shelf today and said, "silly Gary, he put my vest with the toys!!"  She was laughing hard about it.

Joslyn played with the food toys and was 'feeding' us all kind of things; "coconut, applesauce, and a drink."

Outside they had lots of fun 'painting' with the paint brushes, riding the bikes, and doing their daily running from Thomas.  It's kind of a group game; "there's Thomas, RUN!"  He thinks it's wonderful and he runs along behind them.  :)

In this first picture Joslyn and Morgan are looking at their family posters and 'discussing' them.  Of course they are talking at the same time so that makes for an interesting discussion.  :)

In this second picture Joslyn was playing with the dress-up clothes and Kenzie joined her.  Joslyn put on different dresses, skirts, shoes, aprons, and a chef's hat.

Joslyn ate grapes and 3rd's on cinnamon toast for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of her chicken strips, ate dinner roll, bites of fried red potatoes, and a bite of canned cherries.

Joslyn was playing with Riley and pulling her in the wagon.  She was also pretty excited about seeing Riley start walking.  "She's walking!!"

Lauralea was talking to Riley about having a little brother.  Joslyn said, "I've got my big Colt!"  (sounds like she's talking about her six-shooter.)

She had a lawnmower beside Nora and said, "Hey Nora!  Watch a movie of my lawnmower!"  :)

Then she saw Noah's mom coming and started sucking her thumb and said, "I wanna snuggle."  :)

In this first picture Joslyn is playing with the legos creation she put together.  It's pretty detailed; notice the legos people sitting on the top on both sides.

In this picture the kids are picking up wood chips and old apples that make their way into our yard from the neighbors yard.  (the weed-eater throws them)  The kids love doing this activity and it's nice for us too.  :)  Joslyn is kind of in the middle squatted down; with her diapers showing.  :)

Joslyn ate most of her breakfast:  whole wheat bagel and peaches.  For lunch she ate ham, 2nd's on mac-n-cheese, ate lettuce salad, and corn.

Joslyn played by herself in the box with the legos; laying on the big bear.  She really likes having her own space.  (and it's frequently good for everyone)   :)

Somebody has taught Kenzie what a "triangle" is.  So she had three fence pieces (of legos) and made a "triangle."  So Joslyn got three fence pieces and put them in a straight line and said, "look, I make a triangle!"  :)  Very cute.

They were all using the legos pieces as "cameras."  Joslyn would hold one up to her face and say, "cheese!"  Sometimes we say "cheese" and sometimes "fuzzy pickles."  This morning Kenzie said, "cheesy pickles."  :)

Joslyn did her usual play with the dolls and purses.  She had blankets and was wrapping up her baby and also packing her purse full of goodies.  She had lots of food toys in her purse and even a baking mixer.  :)  It's good to be prepared.  Then she was reading to her baby.  She laid the baby on the floor, straddled it, and held up the book and started reading to it.  She was singing, "hush little baby..."  Then she was teaching her baby to walk and was saying, "walk walk walk...."

Joslyn ate pears and 2nd's on waffles for breakfast.  For lunch she ate tuna and crackers; bite of sweet potatoes and bite of oranges.

Missy is here working on some book work today and came out and talked to the kids at the breakfast table.  Joslyn just randomly said, "I'm funny, Missy!"  :)

We also had a person here this morning that monitors the food program.  Her name is Claudette.  When she was leaving Joslyn said, "bye Cla da da da da!"  Oh man, that was so funny.  Pure comedy.  So I guess what she told Missy is right; she is funny!! even if it wasn't intentional.   :)

Joslyn had three major conflicts this morning, but she did not melt down and there was not any screaming or stomping her feet.  We intervened and she was able to control herself all three times.  Good job Joslyn.

Outside a truck went by with it's windows down, music blaring and booming, and it was loud!  We look over and here is Morgan, Kenzie, Joslyn, Peyton, and Thomas just dancing away.  I guess they thought it was party time!  :)  It was pretty funny.

I thought these pictures of Thomas and Joslyn were cute.  Notice how Joslyn is multi-tasking in the first picture.  Talking on the phone, but still doing some cooking.  :)

Joslyn had bites of breakfast: chex cereal and fruit salad.  For lunch she ate most of her roast beef sandwich, drank tomato soup, and ate apple slices.

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend.  The first thing Joslyn played with was the purses and dolls;  doing some shopping and being a mommy.  She was carrying the purse around her neck and in front of her.  Then she got mad because she wanted three of the purses.  Then Nora started howling because Joslyn was screaming.  Nora is kind of a sensitive soul and things like that upset her.  So Joslyn quieted down and she thought Nora should be quiet then too.  She said, "I stopped Nora!"  She wanted Nora to know that she was done howling.  :)  Now that's entertainment!

Joslyn also played with the food toys at the table with Thomas.  However she still had the purse around her neck and was filling it full of toys too.

She was pretty proud of herself for clipping a tie on the front of her shirt.  She said, "I did it Gary!"

Outside she played on the climbers, ran back and forth across the lawn, and was giving baby Riley rides in the wagon.

When I can't think of anything else to post, a picture of the kids peeking through the fence is always a nice option.  They're watching the neighbor's dog and learning some life skills all at the same time.  :)

You saw Joslyn playing with the dolls before you left and she continued to do that for a long time after you left.  You saw her holding the doll by the ankles and later she had it all wrapped in a blanket and then she was sitting on it.  I told Lauralea that is where the term "baby sitter" comes from.  :)  Yes, I know, that was pretty lame.  But at least Lauralea laughed.

After Nora arrived Joslyn planted herself right in front of Nora and was giving her some food toys and piling them in front of her.  Joslyn likes those babies that are not yet mobile.  She tried to do that with Riley today, but Riley scampered off.  Nora got tired of the pile of toys and wanted rescued and Joslyn was just furious.  :)

Outside, after Nora had a nap, I put her in the wagon and then Joslyn was thrilled because she again had a captive audience.  She did pull the wagon and give Nora a ride.

Joslyn started copying Kenzie and Morgan outside.  They were running by Thomas trying to get him to chase them.  So Joslyn was running by him saying, "Tom Tom...."  He seemed amused by it all, but he wasn't quite sure what to do.  :)

When we call the children in for lunch we have them stop on the patio and take off their shoes.  Then one of the 'older' ones will help Thomas and Peyton.  Joslyn almost always is the one helping Thomas get his shoes off.  And she does a great job.

Joslyn ate whole wheat bagel and dried apricots for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of her fish (tilapia), ate noodles with peas and cheese, and ate applesauce.

Joslyn (and most everyone else) was thrilled to see Nora back today.  Joslyn sat in front of her, brought her toys, and interacted with her a lot.  She was also putting a blanket over Nora's head.

She was singing and doing motions during singing time.  She also sat and participated in sign language with Lauralea.

It's always fun to get out some toys that we haven't played with for awhile.  Everyone had fun with the lawnmowers.  You can see in the picture that Joslyn decided to drag her's around rather than pushing it.

In this second picture Joslyn seems to be a bit mesmerized by Thomas' "skill" twirling the ribbons.  They have round handles and the kids had fun running with them and twirling them.  (and of course stepping on them while they were trying to run.)

Joslyn ate half of her bran cereal and most of her dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she had 2nd's on pizza, ate steamed cauliflower, and tropical fruit.

Joslyn was so happy to be back at daycare and it was really cute.  She gave lots of loves to Lauralea and I and the babies.  She told Lauralea, "You're coming to my house and so is Gary!"

The first thing she did was play with the food toys and get the table all set to eat.  Then she called for Peyton, "Come eat, Peyton!"  Except Peyton ignored her.

Then she saw a legos tower that Emily had built and she abandoned the food toys and headed to play with the legos.  Later she started building in with the big bear.  (Picture below)    :)

She was listening to Kenzie talk at the breakfast table (she went to the Griz scrimmage with her dad last night) and she asked Kenzie, "You go to Griz game?  You got tattoo?"  It was very cute.

I use a support pillow for my back when I sit on the couch.  It always stays there and the kids are good about leaving it there.  Joslyn thought she needed to 'line out' Emily about the pillow; "Don't touch Gary's pillow, ok!?"  (I actually never tell them that)  They lean back against it like I do.

I had to take this picture because Joslyn found the perfect spot to play with her legos and get snuggled all at the same time.  She played right there for over half an hour.  I love how involved she can get with the toys.  She actually let Kenzie join her for awhile in there too.

Joslyn ate raisins and 2nd's on malt-o-meal cereal for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground beef with spaghetti sauce, and noodles, taste of banana-fruit salad, and ate grapes.

When Lauralea was combing Joslyn's hair she was checking her scalp and had the hair combed forward into Joslyn's face.  Joslyn said to Emily, "Look at me Emily!  I'm all messed up!"

Then at the breakfast table she needed her nose wiped and Emily was sitting right beside her examining Joslyn's nose.  Joslyn said, "don't touch it!"  From the look on Emily's face I really don't think the warning was necessary.  Emily had a pretty disgusted look on her face and didn't look inclined at all to touch it.  :)

The neighbors had a moving sale this morning and we went over and got a big stuffed bear.  Three or four can play on it at the same time and they had a blast with it.

Thomas sits across the table from Joslyn at meal times.  At lunch he kept putting his feet on her.  She said, "Don't put your feet on me!!  I don't like it!!"  That was so much better than her just yelling and us having to figure out what the problem is.

Joslyn had bites of raisin english muffin and ate blueberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken and crackers, most of her potato salad, and ate canned cherries.

Jadey was here visiting again today.  Joslyn didn't really pay any attention to her or play with her.  But she did walk up to Lauralea and say, "Jadey's here!"  Ok, thank you Joslyn for bringing that to our attention.  :)

She played with the legos for a long time and then with the building blocks too.  Then she moved on to the dolls and played with those for the rest of our inside time.  She had the doll on the floor, straddling it, wrapping it with a blanket, laying on it, sitting on it, etc.. We need to work on her caregiving techniques just a little bit.  :)  The baby got smothered and squished.

Outside she noticed (of course) that Jadey's sunscreen and Nora's sunscreen were the same.  "They match, they match!!"  Very exciting stuff.  :)

She did some running outside, playing on the climbers, and on the teeter totter.  She teeter tottered with Peyton and took her on a pretty wild ride.  Then she teeter tottered with Morgan, but she wasn't in control of that one.  So it wasn't nearly as much fun.  :)

Joslyn ate a biscuit and peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate everything: baked beans, dinner roll, steamed broccoli, and pineapple.

Joslyn spent lots and lots of time building with the legos.   I guess today was dinosaur day.  She said, "a big big dinosaur!"  And she also showed Lauraela her "cool dinosaur."

She was studying her family poster again and I asked her who she was looking at.  She just looks at me and grins.  Very cute.

She was angry at Thomas for coming in her space and taking one of the dolls.  However, she yelled at him instead of screaming. Good job Joslyn.  She said, "Don't bug me!!  I don't like that!"  ( of course he just moved closer and I intervened.)

She had two dolls, blankets, bottles and doll dress-up clothes.  She was trying to dress them and getting more frustrated by the minute.  So Lauralea helped her that time.

Outside she burned up lots of energy riding bikes, chasing frisbees, and playing this running game they like.  I do the "runners to your marks, get set,....." thing and Joslyn is the only runner at the starting blocks who is standing there sucking her thumb.   :)
