Joslyn ate hash browns and 2nd's on waffles for breakfast. For lunch she ate half of her shrimp, brown rice, and green beans, and a bite of oranges.
Jadey and Coral were both here so the group was a little larger and more lively this morning. Jadey's mom said that a week ago Jadey had a scratch on her back and she asked Jadey how it happened. Jadey's response was, "Joslyn did it!" :)
Joslyn was pretty impressed this morning because she noticed that her and Nora's bib are the same color. "I match Nora!!" :)
We were doing singing time and I heard Joslyn do a 'Gary version' of "Down by the Station." "Down by the stinking station..." :) It was a proud moment.
They were playing their food and cooking game in the climbers outside. Joslyn asked Thomas, "You wanna frozen ice cream?"
We were playing with bath foam at art time and as you can see in the picture I think Joslyn was enjoying herself.

Joslyn ate most of her breakfast: cheerios and banana. For lunch she ate toasted cheese sandwich, drank tomato soup, and ate apple slices.
Here's something from last Friday: At snack time Lauralea laid her head on the table and Joslyn said, "No, don't sleep on the table; sleep in your chair!!" :)
We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange and Joslyn played with lots and lots of things. Especially the food toys, shakers, books, keys, lots of legos, and the tools. She was using some pliers to pick up some food toys.
At the breakfast table she was talking about who sits where, and where each of them sleep too. She said, "I'm sleeping in the old Jadey's spot!" :) Love that phrasing!
Her nose ran pretty steady this morning; along with several others. I was getting prepared to wipe her's and she said, "I'm trying to ask Morgan a question!"
Outside they all played a toddler version of 'chase' and 'follow the leader.' And usually Morgan was the leader, but each of them would frequently do their own thing too of course.

Joslyn ate oatmeal and dried cranberries for breakfast. For lunch she ate most of her ground beef, ate noodles with peas and cheese, and ate most of applesauce.
Emily and Joslyn were playing together and Emily started crying. I didn't see what happened so I asked Joslyn, "what happened?" Her answer, "I made her cry!" Oh, that was real helpful. That was already my first assumption. :)
She was watching the lava lamp and she called it the "loova lamp." (with a 'long o' sound) They have lots of variations of saying it; "lova lamp" (like love, with an 'a' at the end). Or "luva amp" (with a "u" sound; and notice no 'L' on lamp.) And many more...The entertainment never ends. :)
Joslyn and Kenzie were having some kind of conflict and Joslyn yells, "You're not in charge!!" (She's heard that phrase around here a few times.) :)
Here are a couple pictures of Joslyn having fun with the blocks. Lauralea had helped them build the box and they played in it for a long time. Did you see Thomas in the box too? :)
And here Thomas is joining Joslyn and Kenzie in the box.

Joslyn ate blueberry bread pudding and blueberries for breakfast. For lunch she ate turkey burger, green beans, and mandarin oranges.
For some reason (I do not know) Morgan was calling Joslyn "Mickey Mouse" before breakfast today. Joslyn did not like that and said (very emphatically I might add), "I'm Joslyn!! Not Mickey Mouse!!" :)
Several of them were playing with doctor toys and Emily asked, "Can I doctor Joslyn?" The question was directed at me. (again, I do not know - this is a common theme today) Joslyn answered her anyhow, "maybe not!" Funny answer. So Emily goes over and holds the stethoscope up to the dragonfly on the insect poster while asking, "Can I doctor the dragonfly?" That was a much 'safer' choice I thought. :)
Here are a couple of pictures I thought were cute. The first one is Joslyn pretending to nap. Notice the legs of her doll hanging out of the blanket. Morgan had covered up Joslyn and then just started reading a book. :)
I thought the engineer's hat was very cute on Joslyn. She also had a vest and a glass of milk and was reading her book.

Joslyn ate jelly toast and thirds on dried mangoes for breakfast. For lunch she ate beef and bean burrito, a bite of sweet potatoes, and bite of tropical fruit.
Joslyn started talking to Lauralea about "her truck." She said, "Do you like my new truck? Dad got it for me to pick me up in!" :) The world always revolves around them. You got that truck just for her.
Sometimes when I bring Nora out from her nap Joslyn will say hi to her like this; "Hi Nora Nora, open the dora!" Those are basically some of the words to the song we have about "Nora." :) In the song the little girl is in her room with the door shut and will not come out or open her door. So he's singing all these wonderful things to get her to come out.
Joslyn was on the couch with baby Riley and was sucking her thumb and feeling all snuggly. So she tried to use Riley as someone or something to snuggle with. Pretty soon she had her head laying on Riley's lap. Riley was looking at her like, "what the heck?!?"
She had the doctor toys and was giving Lauralea a shot and then she had the stethoscope and was 'listening to Lauralea's shoulder." :) Then she asked Lauralea, "are you better?" :)
The big entertainment outside was chasing bubbles and watching the water truck and street sweeper going by. The kids were all lined up at the fence and watching the equipment at work just a few feet away.

Joslyn ate dried plums and 2nd's on cinnamon rolls for breakfast. For lunch she ate scrambled eggs, bite of waffle, bite of hash browns, and ate most of cantaloupe.
One of the first things Joslyn said to Lauralea this morning was, "I'm going to eat at your house today!" Like it was an unusual occurrence. :) Then she told me that too at least twice before breakfast.
I sneezed loud and Lauralea said something; although I'm not sure what. Joslyn said, "scared me too!!"
She was looking at Riley's little feet and said, "I like those feetsees!" :)
Here's two pictures of Joslyn playing with the food toys. In this first picture they are all at the table and Kenzie is being the server. Joslyn has lots of goodies on her plate.
In this picture she has a 'kabob'. She was calling it her "popsicle!" :)

Joslyn ate kix cereal and a bite of mixed fruit for breakfast. For lunch she ate most of her ham sandwich, ate steamed broccoli, and a bite of kiwi.
Everyone was playing with the building blocks and Joslyn was making a "motor boat" again. (Just like last week.) After breakfast she was right back doing the same thing. Riley was swiping some of Joslyn's blocks, but she's the only one (well the other babies too) who could get away with that without incurring Joslyn's wrath.
Lauralea was wrapping up a couple of books for mailing (on the changing table) and Joslyn stacked up some blocks to stand on to see what Lauralea was doing.
She was running back-n-forth across the lawn and I was sure she was doing it to watch her shadow. And I was right; she came up and said, "my whale spout was running!" She was watching her whale spout bob up and down in her shadow.
Riley took off her shoes outside and Joslyn was immediately right there to help her. Little miss mommy was all concerned and mumbling all the time she was working on Riley's shoe.
Then she was playing with Nora on the baby blanket outside too. Nora was grabbing some grass and Joslyn was mumbling about that too and trying to get the grass out of Nora's hand and Nora was working hard to grab as much as she could. It was kind of like watching a puppy chase his tail. Lots of action, but not much being accomplished. :)

Joslyn ate brown rice and raisins for breakfast. For lunch she ate half of her meat loaf, ate french bread, bite of carrots, and bite of dried apricots.
This one song had just started this morning and before the words even began Joslyn whirls around and says to Lauralea, "This your song!!" The song is "Lollipop, lollipop, oh lollipop...." and somehow everyone now calls that Lauralea's song. I think I know how it all began, but it's too detailed to journal about here. :)
We were at the window and watching these little birds fly through the 'links' in the chain link fence. They were going through pretty fast.
Outside she played on the teeter-totter with Emily, rode the bikes, played on the climbers and slides, and served food in the play house.
In this first picture Joslyn was in the big box playing with these blocks for a long time. She was making lots of motor sounds and said it was her "motor boat!"
In this picture Lauralea had helped them make a train and Joslyn was again making lots of motor sounds with her "choo choo train."

Joslyn ate grapes and 2nd's on cinnamon toast for breakfast. For lunch she ate chicken strips, dinner roll, bite of mashed potatoes, and bite of cherries.
Joslyn had hit her leg on the side of the box and bruised it pretty good. Kenzie was right over to her asking, "Need a cold cloth?" :) They think that's the answer for everything. (and they're pretty much right on.)
Today Joslyn discovered the "blocks are fun" poster. It has daycare kids, past and present, playing with blocks. Of course the poster has been up for about two weeks or more, but better late than never.
Joslyn played with Thomas on the teeter-totter and they were going good. Prior to that Kenzie had been trying to teeter-totter with him and she couldn't budge him. :)
Our next baby that is coming next month is a little boy named Noah. His mother was here today and I said that was Noah's mother. Joslyn didn't like that and said, "this is Nora right here!" :) Life is so confusing!
This is a picture of Joslyn holding up a book in front of Nora for her to read. As you can see Nora is not paying attention, but hey it's the thought that counts. :) Look at that sweet little mommie look on Joslyn's face.

Joslyn ate half of her breakfast: whole wheat bagel and peaches. For lunch she ate ham, 2nd's on macaroni and cheese, ate lettuce salad, and corn.
Yesterday around Thomas' left eye it looked like he'd been in a cat fight. And I guess maybe he had; and the ferocious little kitty was Joslyn. Thomas likes to do every thing the 'big' kids are doing and he'll barge right into their play area...and Joslyn's claws immediately pop out. With Kenzie it's her fangs that are immediately prepared to fight off the intruder. And he usually comes out battered and bruised. You'd think he'd be more cautious, but not really. So we're working on his approach and their responses. :)
Joslyn was all kicked back and lounging in the big chair. She had her doll all wrapped up, changed and fed, and they were relaxing together. :)
Outside Joslyn kept giving Nora and Mia something. I asked her what she was giving them and she said, "baby snacks!" :)
I have frequently mentioned how much Joslyn likes building with legos. But I don't think I've ever included a picture of her doing that, so here's one. :)

Joslyn ate pears and 2nd's on blueberry muffins for breakfast. For lunch she ate most of her tuna and crackers, half of her sweet potatoes, and a bite of oranges.
Joslyn, Morgan, Kenzie, and Emily were all shaking bells and tambourines and singing, "Jingle Bells."
Joslyn put on some dress up shoes and within five minutes everyone else had on dress up shoes. This group is soooo 'monkey see, monkey do.'
Joslyn has been such a good helper at picking up the toys. She stays right on task and works very hard. I'm very proud of her.
Outside she was pulling Peyton in the wagon and Peyton was loving it. Except that Peyton kept standing up and I knew she was about to fall out. So I'd make her sit down. Well Joslyn was laughing every time she'd stand up. It was kind of funny, but she wasn't helping my cause! :)
This first picture is Joslyn with her baby all wrapped up and in the "fireman's hat bed.' Sometimes they wear the hats and sometimes they use them for doll beds. :)
In this second picture I wanted to show you one of Joslyn's favorite things to do outside. She'll swing on this climber almost everyday.

Joslyn ate half of her breakfast: chex cereal and fruit salad. For lunch she ate most of her roast beef
sandwich, drank tomato soup, and ate most of her apple slices.
We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend and everyone was very busy. Joslyn played with the food toys (which are very soft and realistic in this set), dolls and blankets, and doctor toys. She had the stethoscope and was checking out Nora's leg. Then, as you can see in the picture below, she was using the stethoscope on herself. (I guess she was seeing if she could hear her heart beat in her forehead.) :)
Did Brett tell you about Joslyn being afraid of the worm on Friday? We were doing water play and when we moved the slip-n-slide there was a huge nightcrawler laying on the top of the grass. She went screaming to the patio and sat on the bench sucking her thumb. I told her not to worry because the patio was a "worm free zone!" :)
We got down the little lava lamp and when it warmed up the bubble was doing lots of moving around. Everyone was pretty fascinated by it.
Outside she rode the bikes and her bike was squeaking. She said, "this bike make a sound!"
She also told Thomas his "fruit was trying to run away from him!" (at the breakfast table.)

Joslyn ate oatmeal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast. For lunch she ate hash brown casserole, 2nd's on biscuits, and ate mandarin oranges.
I will write the good stuff first! :) She pooped on the toilet again this morning! Yeah! Good job Joslyn! She has been so proud of herself when she does that.
And now for the stuff I don't like to write about. She had more screaming fits this morning than she's had in a long time. So it was kind of a frustrating morning for her and us. I'll give you a couple examples of what she was doing that preceded them.
1.) She likes standing in this one spot to look at her family poster and of course she's possessive about that spot! :) She'd been looking and talking about the poster and then moved on to play with something else. However, she soon spotted Alayna in that spot doing something and she went ballistic. As you know, once she gets going it's very difficult for her to wipe it up. I think we'll move the poster this weekend to another spot on the wall that may work better for all involved. 2.) Outside she was playing on the slides and then was determined to lay on the bottom of the slide after she'd gone down it. Well there were other kids wanting to go down too. She screamed because she didn't want to move and she didn't want Thomas to go down either. So it was that kind of a morning.
She did stand down at the gate with the other kids and watch the activity at the neighbor's garage sale. It was a constant flow of cars and people all morning and provided entertainment for the daycare.
When it came time for Lauralea to set up lunch we had her go inside and hang out while Lauralea set up. I think she liked being by herself for awhile.

Joslyn had bites of french bread and ate cantaloupe for breakfast. For lunch she ate turkey, crescent roll, steamed cauliflower, and 2nd's on dried mangoes.
When Joslyn laid down on her nap mat and I covered her up she just started howling and screaming like the world was coming to an end. I'm like mystified as to what that was about!!! She's so upset she can't talk of course so I leave her alone and after a bit she settles down and I figure she's gotten over whatever it was. I really had no idea. I had asked her to roll over so I could fit the blanket between her and the wall. So I thought maybe she was opposed to laying on her tummy. :) Probably at least ten minutes later I'm tucking Emily in and I'm wondering where her blanket is at. Now everything becomes clear. :) Emily's blanket is on Joslyn. Jeez, you'd think she'd at least said something or pointed or anything instead of just immediately screaming and howling and having a major meltdown. She must have figured I knew what I was doing (her first mistake) and I was just trying to torture her!
A similar thing happened at the lunch table yesterday, although not quite as intense of an outburst, but pretty intense just the same. We had moved people around at the table to accommodate Thomas joining them. Joslyn is in Morgan's old spot and Morgan sat there instead. She quickly realized that was now Joslyn's spot and she had better move on!
Joslyn was looking at her family poster and said, "These are my fwamily!" :) "Grandma Honey! I like Grandpa David; he's funny!"
They were all using the fishing poles for their vacuum cleaners. Joslyn came and asked me for a battery for hers. :)
Outside she was serving food to everyone and brought me something. I asked what it was and she said, "coffee, nugget, and french fries in it!" I don't think I'll ask next time. :)

Joslyn ate toast and 2nd's on mixed berries for breakfast. For lunch she ate ham, 2nd's on crackers, ate bean & bacon soup, and ate kiwi.
Joslyn asked to go potty when the group went potty first thing this morning. (I think it was before breakfast.) Then she said she had to poop so she stayed in there and sure enough she did a big poop! Good job Joslyn! She was very proud of herself and so are we. :)
They were all putting the big interlocking blocks together and stretching them out for a sidewalk. At least that's what we usually call it. Well Morgan informed everyone it was a "slip-n-slid!" So she was showing Joslyn how she needed to get on her belly and move along on it. So Joslyn was being compliant and started calling it a "slip-n-slide." :)
She was playing with the legos again of course. She had these two legos people and said, "look, they match!" And they were identical in every way, except one was dark and one was light. We thought that was very cool. :)
She chased bubbles for a little while, but she's always the first to get bored with it and leaves about half way through every time we do it. First she decided to just sit on the ground and let the bubbles come to her. Then she rode the bikes for a while and was going down the slides on her belly.

She chased bubbles for a little while, but she's always the first to get bored with it and leaves about half way through every time we do it. First she decided to just sit on the ground and let the bubbles come to her. Then she rode the bikes for a while and was going down the slides on her belly.

Joslyn ate whole wheat bagel and dried apricots for breakfast. For lunch she ate most of her fish (tilapia), ate pasta and peas with shredded cheese on top, and ate applesauce.
Joslyn played with the food toys for a long time this morning. They velcro together and then she was 'cutting' them apart. She brought me a kiwi and said it was "toast!" Then she brought another kiwi over and said it was "tomango!" (I told Lauralea I believe that's a cross between a tomato and a mango.) She was entertaining me quite well this morning.
She continued to entertain me while looking through the 'picture binoculars' and I'd ask her what she saw. I showed her a butterfly..."butterfly." I showed her a frog..."frog." I showed her a skunk..."owl." I showed her a chipmunk..."owl." :) I told Lauralea that she has a "default setting." If she doesn't know the animal the default setting always goes back to owl. (However, she always identifies what an owl really is.)
She was a great helper picking up the toys today before we went outside. She worked hard and stayed on task with the jobs I'd give her to do.
Here's a picture of Joslyn working hard with one of her legos inventions. The legos table is behind her, but she made her own 'table' by stacking the building blocks. Shortly after this picture was taken she allowed Morgan and Kenzie to work on her legos piece with her. (surprised us!) :)

Joslyn ate dried cranberries and half of her bran cereal for breakfast. For lunch she ate pizza, bite of yellow squash, and half of tropical fruit.
We moved the toys around in two of the rooms and Joslyn was happy to see the legos and blocks in the big room. So she played with those for a while and then went over to the food toys and stuffed one of the backpacks full of food toys.
She sat and looked at lots of books and was singing and reading aloud. I could hear "the bear went over the mountain" and that was very cute.
All the kids were looking at the new family posters that we put up this weekend. (and by "we" I mean Lauralea and Missy!) :) Joslyn pointed at one and said, "there's Josie!" Except it was the Cline family poster. I found that to be quite humorous. So Morgan helped her find hers and she was thrilled. "There's Colt! and Daddy!".... She was very pleased to find the right family! :)
She asked to go potty when everyone else was going this morning. And she went potty three times. And kept her diaper dry after the first time. Nice job Joslyn.
She was chasing bubbles outside; until they spotted a bird on the wire and decided to chase it for a minute. She also rode bikes and went down the slides with Morgan and Kenzie.
She was thrilled because baby Riley was hugging her after Riley woke up from her nap. It was so cute because she just wrapped her arms around Joslyn. After that Joslyn tried for the same result over and over again.

Joslyn ate malt-o-meal cereal and raisins for breakfast. For lunch she had meat with spaghetti sauce, noodles, lettuce salad, and mixed fruit.
Joslyn continued to play with those 'camera-picture' toys that you saw her playing with. It always makes me laugh because she'll hold them upside down at least half of the time. She said, "a rainbow!" and then I turned it right-side up for her and she said, "baby deer!" and she was right. :) She gets twice the mileage out of those toys that way.
She loves piling toys in front of baby Nora. The babies really don't have to even learn to crawl or move on their own; all their immediate needs are being met. :)
Joslyn was smelling baby Riley's hair and said, "stinky piggies!" (I have no idea! It wasn't in pigtails.)
She played with the dolls and blankets for the longest time. And most of the time was spent in front of the mirror. :) She'd hold them very close and say, "my little tiny baby." She has way more 'mothering instincts' than any of our other kids. (if the length of time she spends with dolls is any indication.) :)
Outside she chased bubbles around the yard with everyone and she rode bikes for a long time too.

Joslyn had a bite of raisin english muffin and ate half of her blueberries for breakfast. For lunch she ate chicken and crackers, fried red potatoes, and cherries.
Joslyn had a good morning and she seemed glad to be back and seeing all the babies. Nora was giggling and reaching for her too.
We were talking about Thomas being at his uncle's farm yesterday for the 4th and he saw a baby "colt." Well, all Joslyn heard was "colt" and she said, "My Callahan made a bad choice!" :)
We'd done a toy, book, and puzzle exchange so she had lots of different things to check out. She put on dress-up clothes and was wearing the frog suit.
I took Peyton out of her highchair and put her on the floor. Peyton headed for her crib. (it was nap time) Joslyn said, "She's walking by herself!!" She reacted like it was the first time she'd ever seen her walk! :)
I thought this was a cute picture of the kids looking at Lauralea's computer. She was showing them pictures and videos from Sea World and SanDiego Zoo. They all laughed and enjoyed the video of the puffins playing in the water.
