Joslyn ate whole wheat bagel and oranges for breakfast.  For lunch she had two servings of cheese, ate whole wheat bread, two servings of green beans, and ate canned cherries.

The gate was open and I guess Joslyn thought Morgan could take care of the problem.  "Morgan, will you go shut the gate?"  :)  Joslyn was laying on the couch and didn't want to be bothered.  However, she saw that Mia was heading to the gate to make an escape.

Joslyn was reading a book and said, "This about when Kenzie was a baby!"  :)  So then she reads it and starts telling a Kenzie story.  Pretty cute.

We could hear the neighbor's dog barking and Joslyn said, "The puppy's howling!"  Actually it is a hound dog and has more of a howl than a bark.

Joslyn played with the food toys a lot.  She had on an apron and was using the little oven mitts to serve food to Nora who was sitting at the table.

Joslyn still plays with the legos pieces a lot.  Today she had the legos fence pieces hooked together and was peeking through the little holes at me.

Joslyn ate most of her cheerios and a bite of peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she had a bite of baked beans, ate dinner roll, ate half of potato salad, and a bite of broccoli-cauliflower mix.

Joslyn was talking about presents and said, "I got a pink airplane; just what I wanted!"  They were giving each other "presents" in the back room.  She made a legos tower and said to Peyton, "Here's your present Peyton."  Peyton offers it to Mia, "Here's your present!"  Mia looks at it, takes it (with a look of 'whatever' on her face), and strolls off.  :)

Joslyn was reading books and when she was done Peyton would go get her another one.  Joslyn was being a little bossy; "Get me another book!"  Which was interesting because they'd just been fighting over a doll blanket right before I took this picture.

Lauralea had been holding Nora and Joslyn wanted to hold her.  Lauralea said that Nora was kind of wiggly. Joslyn said, "But I'd be gentle with her."  So I took a picture of them.

Joslyn saw Lauralea taking notes on her iPad and asked her; "Is that a new iPod?"  Even the little ones know all the new terminology!

Joslyn ate most of her breakfast: oatmeal and dried cranberries.  For lunch she ate ground beef, two servings of whole wheat noodles (elbows) with cheese and peas, and ate applesauce.

Joslyn and Emily were waiting for me to clean up after lunch and when I came out from taking stuff to the kitchen Joslyn was holding her cup up to Emily's mouth and Emily was sucking on it.  Next time I came out they were hugging each other tightly and said they were scared of the big rabbit.  :)

Here's a picture of Joslyn making sure Riley gets some food.  :)  Joslyn played with lots of food toys and asked, "Anybody want some more candy?"

At breakfast Joslyn and Morgan were keeping an eye on Thomas.  Morgan said, "Don't stick your fingers in it!"  Joslyn said to Thomas, "You better not eat with your fingers!"  Of course about that time Joslyn spilled some down the front of her bib.  :)  Maybe you guys should just take care of yourself and Lauralea and I will handle everyone else?

Frequently at meal times Thomas likes to make the big announcement.  This morning at breakfast he was saying (loudly and often), "Time to eat, time to eat, time to eat......"  Joslyn was more than skeptical as she looked at me and asked, "Is it time to eat, Gary?"  :)

Joslyn was so happy and excited to watch Nora trying to stand and take steps.  She said, "I want her to do it again!"  Then she sat on the mattress with her arms extended (like Lauralea was doing) wanting Nora to try to walk to her.  Riley was sitting beside Joslyn so she extended her arms too.  That was funny.

Joslyn ate blueberry waffle and two servings of blueberries for breakfast.  I was a little nervous about giving her more blueberries considering she is in panties.  :)  For lunch she had two servings of turkey burger, ate green beans, and kiwi.

I said hi to Mia and called her Peyton.  Joslyn immediately let me know that was wrong.  "That's not Peyton!  That's Mia!"  Then at lunch I called her Morgan and she said, "I'm not Morgan, I'm Joslyn!"  Thanks Joslyn!  I need all the help I can get!

Joslyn and Peyton were wrapping the stuffed animals around their necks and Joslyn said, "Take picture of me!!"  So here it is.  :)

Then she was hanging the purse off her head and wanted us to take a picture of that too.

And here is a third picture.  Nora had gotten herself into a 'pickle' and rather than just explain it I wanted to show her parents what it looked like.  When I asked Joslyn to help me she totally understood what I wanted and went right over to pose for the picture.  She'd been watching Nora and was quite concerned when it happened.  Nora's feet started sliding under the table and she started howling like crazy.  And this is basically what it looked like.  :)  Nora hung on until I got to her.  Thank you Joslyn! So I used this picture on Nora's blog.  :)

Kenzie and Joslyn were playing with the dress-up clothes, shoes, and purses again.  Joslyn had a scarf wrapped around her head and was calling it a "towel."  Then Morgan asked them if they were going to the water park and Joslyn said, "We are at the water park!!"  (So then the towel made sense.)

Joslyn ate jelly toast and two servings of dried mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate beef & bean burrito, bites of sweet potatoes, and ate tropical fruit.

This picture is blurry, but I decided to post it anyway.  Lauralea took it with her iPad and then posted it here for me.  It usually is very clear.  Anyhow, they were having fun piling the stuffed animals on each other and taking turns.

One day last week Joslyn asked Lauralea what Thomas was for halloween.  Lauralea couldn't remember, but said, "I think he was a superhero!"  This morning Joslyn just randomly said, "Thomas has a super hero at home!!"  Then she and Thomas were playing with dress-up clothes and they had their purses full and I asked where they were going.  Joslyn said, "We're going to halloween!"  :)

We were in the back room and I asked Mia what she did with her binky.  Joslyn immediately starts searching with me and crawled under the crib to retrieve it.  Good job Joslyn!  Thanks for your help.  She loves being a helper.

She saw Christina today and I guess it reminded her of seeing her in the cafe on Sunday.  She told Christina that she had "nachos."  It was pretty funny.

Joslyn ate three servings of cinnamon roll and ate dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate scrambled eggs, bite of waffle, bite of hash browns, and ate cantaloupe.  

I snuggled Joslyn first thing this morning and then she got up and immediately went and tried to take a toy away from Emily.  So she ended up spending a short time alone (only three or four minutes) in the back room and when she came out she was a different kid.  She did fine the rest of the morning.

She had a potty accident this morning too and she wasn't happy about that.  But she did poop two times in the toilet and was successful going potty too.  (The second time was a big poop.)  By the way she needs extra panties and pants here.

Here's a picture of the birthday girl playing with one of her favorite toys in this set.  This house has little people and a baby, which she loves.

She played with the food toys and was filling her purse full of stuff.  She was asking Kenzie, "You want coffee?"  Then she wanted Lauralea to help her tie up her apron.  "Would you tighten this for me because I am cooking!?"

Joslyn ate kix cereal and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate two servings of ham & cheese sandwich, ate peas, and mandarin oranges.

I think Joslyn's sense of smell is coming on pretty good now.  (The last sense to develop and she's at the right age.)  I was changing Mia's poopy diaper and Joslyn asked Thomas, "Did you fart Thomas?" He said, "No!"  So she asked Emily, "Did you fart Emily?"  :)  Cracked me up.

We did our usual 'two week' toy, book, and puzzle exchange.  Joslyn basically played with everything in the big room.  She was playing with the food toys and in this set there are kitchen timers.  She got one to go off and it startled baby Reid.  Joslyn said, "I scared the baby!"

She is such a good helper when the other kids need help; especially the littlest ones as we've talked about many times.  But she also helps the older ones too.  This morning Peyton asked Emily to help with her zipper and Emily said, "No, I'm busy!"  So Joslyn helped her.  Of course later it was Emily who came to Joslyn for help with her clip-on tie.

Joslyn played for a long time in the big box with Kenzie.  They had every imaginable toy in there with them.  The box was their "car" and sometimes they were even letting Thomas ride with them.  Or sometimes they were using it to get away from him.  Kenzie said, "Let's get back in the car!!"  (When Thomas was after them.)

Joslyn ate half of her breakfast: brown rice and raisins.  For lunch she ate most of her meatloaf, ate french bread, bites of carrots, and a bite of dried apricots.

Joslyn said, "I gotta go poop!"  She did a big poop before breakfast and then another one (smaller) about 11:00.  Way to go Joslyn!

You said Joslyn struggled a bit this morning and she did come in somewhat testy.  We put her right to work helping with baby Reid and she was smiling the entire time.  It sure helped her attitude.  She likes to be a helper and that's a job she loves.  And she was fine the rest of the morning.

Joslyn was sitting in front of Nora and whipping her (Joslyn) dress up over her head.  Nora would reach out and pull it back down.  They played that game for several minutes and they were both laughing.

Joslyn was inside of a block 'house' we built and she was dancing in front of the mirror.  (It started when we turned on Nora's Song.)  Emily wanted in the block house too and Joslyn said, "You can come in my dancing place."  :)

Joslyn, Kenzie, and Emily were taking turns jumping off the climber onto the mattress.  One would jump and the other two would cheer.  Emily kind of got the cheering part going.  She was getting ready to jump and she told them what to say; "Say, go Emily go!"   So they did.

Joslyn ate cinnamon toast and two servings of grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of her chili, ate dinner roll, bite of hash browns, and ate canned cherries.

Peyton, Thomas, Emily, Joslyn, and Morgan were all packed in at the gate when baby Reid arrived because Bode was with his momma this morning.  They all love it because they get to see him occasionally and they get excited and run for the gate when he is there.  And he loves the attention.

She told us twice this morning that she had to pee and one of the times she also pooped.  I think she is going to get it this time.  This whole thing of wearing panties like Kenzie seems to be a good motivator too.  Way to go Joslyn!  She was proud of herself and told Christina about it.

Baby Noah was crying pretty hard (he'd ate and was ready for bed) and Joslyn went right over and was trying to fix the problem.  She was gently setting toys on his chest and trying every thing she could think of.  Nora showed up to 'help' and Joslyn wouldn't let her near the baby.  Which upset Nora greatly!  :)

She was playing with some pliers and experimenting was they could be used for.  Grabbing a phone, except then she decided to wing it across the room, using the pliers like a catapult.  And it actually went pretty good, except it was uncomfortably close to Nora's head on the way by.  :)

Joslyn ate whole wheat bagel and half of her peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ham, two servings of mac-n-cheese, ate lettuce salad, and corn.

This picture is from yesterday afternoon.  Joslyn snuggled Riley after nap for probably 10 to 15 minutes.  They were sitting on the couch and then Joslyn decided to lay down and surprisingly Riley was ok with it.

Joslyn was jumping off the climber and it looked pretty funny because she was extending her arms like she was a diver.

Hey!  She told us she had to go poop again today and she did.  Great job Joslyn!  She was still wet, but it wouldn't hurt my feeling if she conquered the pooping thing first.  :)  When she was done pooping she said that "someday she would wear panties like Kenzie."

Joslyn was at the table playing with the food toys with Morgan and she said, "Ok, dinner is ready!"  Nora climbs up to join them and sits across from Joslyn.  Morgan wandered off and so Joslyn slid some food across to Nora.  Well Nora tries to slide it back to Joslyn, that didn't work, so she just threw it on the floor.  Joslyn gets down,  retrieves it, sits down, and Nora tosses it again.  Now it''s a new game!  Joslyn goes and gets it again and they are both laughing.  Super cute.

Joslyn ate pears and three servings of waffles for breakfast.  For lunch she ate tuna and crackers, bite of sweet potatoes, and bite of oranges.

Joslyn and Thomas were riding double on the big bear and it was their car.  Thomas was making the car sounds and Joslyn was waving and saying, "Bye Gary and Lauralea!"  I asked, "Are you in your car?"  Joslyn said, "No, a truck!"

Joslyn pooped on the toilet this morning and she was very proud of herself.  I had asked her if she wanted to go potty on the toilet and she did and then she pooped.  We went out and told Lauralea and Joslyn was very happy about it all.

They were playing in the swivel rocker in the back room.  That chair has definitely been worth whatever we paid for it.  They never get tired of it.  Peyton was giving Joslyn rides and then Joslyn was giving her rides.

She also played with the puzzles, dolls, dress-up clothes, and jumping off the climber.  Thomas was going off the climber backwards, so Joslyn had to show him how it's really done.  She still plays with the legos almost everyday and also the building blocks.

Joslyn ate most of breakfast: chex cereal and fruit salad.  For lunch she ate roast beef sandwich, two servings of tomato soup, and ate apple slices.  She was trying hard to finish her sandwich so she could have more tomato soup and she kept asking me if there was any left.  She was just sure it was going to be gone by the time she was done with her sandwich.

They haven't got to spend too much time with baby Reid because he sleeps a lot, but this morning he was awake and Joslyn said, "My friend baby!"  (with the emphasis on MY)  And of course an argument with Thomas followed that statement.  :)

Joslyn, Kenzie, and Morgan were having a discussion about the "elf on the shelf...."  Joslyn said, "The elf on the shelf was laying on the diaper bag."  They were all laughing about that one.  :)

She talked lots and lots about the water park.  So was that this past weekend?  Here are some quotes from her chattering about it; "I went to water park.  Down water slide with momma and grandma Judy. I wasn't scared.  In humongous tube!  I went flying all around.  I went backwards Gary!!"  And on and on.  Pretty cute.  :)

Nora was laying on her back and started rolling back and forth.  Joslyn thought that was pretty funny and said, "Look at Nora!"  And was laughing at her.  Nora was thrilled that Joslyn liked it.

She played with the legos, the building blocks, listened to music and sang along, and played with the food toys.  She said, "We're gonna have dinner!"

Joslyn ate oatmeal and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate hash brown casserole, biscuit, and mandarin oranges.

This picture was taken yesterday after nap time.  Lauralea asked her if she was doing sit-ups.  "No! I'm doing flip-ups.  Flip-ups are easy!!"  Shortly after this picture was taken the chair tipped over on top of her.  So today she was doing the same thing except on the couch and said it would not tip on her.

Joslyn and Nora were having so much fun after nap yesterday afternoon too.  They were sitting on the mattress facing each other and Nora was pulling on the front of Joslyn's shirt and then they'd both tip over backwards.  (away from each other)  They were laughing hard and doing it over and over.  Then Joslyn gets this huge 'love surge' and says, "I love you Nora!"  (in the sweetest voice)  The whole thing was super cute!!

Joslyn has been dry here yesterday and today.  (except for pooping)  She went potty this morning and when she came into the room she announced "Hey guys, I went potty!"  Very proud of herself.  Except the only ones who happened to be in the room with me at that time were Mia and Nora.  I don't know if Jolsyn noticed they weren't visibly impressed.

She jumped and did somersaults on the mattress, built with the legos, played with the dolls (of course), and was spinning the swivel-rocker chair.  Also just randomly she said, "I'm going to the water park!"  Oh, when?  "When we be good listeners."

Joslyn ate whole wheat french bread and cantaloupe for breakfast.  For lunch she ate turkey slices, biscuit, butternut squash, and two servings of dried mangoes.

Joslyn and Kenzie were having a blast playing in the dress-up clothes rack.  I'm not sure what they were playing, but there was lots of laughing.  Kenzie took off and Joslyn said, "Come back you silly goose!!"  

We agreed to let a young lady come and observe our program this morning for about an hour.  She's taking an infant and toddler class and it's part of their learning experience.  Anyhow, it always changes the dynamics of the group when someone else is here; especially a stranger.  Joslyn did just fine with her being here and basically ignored her.  :)  Hey, whatever works.

Thomas invariably gets his bib on backwards for every meal.  (I repeat)  Every meal.  Well, he got it on right this morning and Joslyn started cheering for him.  Which was very cute and very sweet.  And Thomas liked it too.  :)

She was hugging my leg this morning and I asked her if she was giving me a love.  She said, "I sniffed you!"  OK.  That's fine.  I took a shower this morning just like every morning.  :)

Lauralea was doing sign language with some flash cards (with pictures) that we have.  Joslyn was enjoying it and listening very intently.  Then they were doing some singing using jingle bells while singing "Jingle Bells."  :)

Joslyn ate three servings of whole wheat toast and two servings of mixed berries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ham, crackers, bean & bacon soup, and kiwi.

Here's a picture of Thomas and Joslyn playing in the chair.  They read books for awhile, but pretty soon they were riding in their car.  In the picture they each have a phone.  Joslyn was 'driving' and she told Thomas to get out and "Go catch a bus!"  So he got out of the chair, ran around a bit, and got back in the chair.  Joslyn said, "Ok, here's your back pack and lunch money!"  She's obviously paying attention to brother Colt's morning routine!  :)

Emily had Joslyn convinced that the toast at breakfast was cinnamon toast.  So Joslyn was asking, "Can I have more cinnamon?"  :)

Jolsyn got so excited when she saw Nora give hugs and loves to this little black stuffed bear.  She excitedly said, "Look it!! Look it!!"  She was a very proud mommy!  :)  "Oh, my Nora is learning from me!"

Jolsyn read books with Emily, did several puzzles, played with the dolls, also the real babies, and she and Emily were covering their heads with blankets and trying to walk around.

Joslyn ate whole wheat bagel and dried apricots for breakfast.  For lunch she ate tilapia, whole wheat elbow noodles with cheese and peas, and ate applesauce.

Is this picture cute or what!?!  Lauralea asked Joslyn if she'd like to hold baby Reid while she went and got him a bottle.  Joslyn was thrilled.  Reid started fussing (he was hungry) and Joslyn didn't care.  It didn't make her nervous or bother her a bit.  She was totally relaxed.

Nora was in the igloo and Joslyn was playing peek-a-boo with her for the longest time.  They were both laughing and having a good time.  Lauralea asked Joslyn if she was playing 'nice' with Nora.  Joslyn said, "No!  I'm playing peek-a-boo with her."  They are such concrete (literal) thinkers.  That sort of thing always makes me laugh.

We couldn't understand Thomas' request at lunch time and Joslyn said, "He wants more applesauce!!"  Thank you for your help Joslyn.  :)

She invited Emily to join her in the chair and read some books.  Well I guess it was an invite even though it sounded more like an order.  "Emily, come here!!"  :)

I put pictures on my iPhoto program and then onto the blog site.  Joslyn was watching me do that today and she saw a couple pictures of my mom's house and said, "Grandma June Bug's house!"  Lauralea calls her Momma June Bug (obviously her name is June) and Joslyn remembered that.  It's been awhile since she heard it or since she's seen those pictures.

Joslyn ate half of her breakfast: bran cereal and dried cranberries.  For lunch she ate three servings of cheese pizza, ate peas, and tropical fruit.  

Here's the explanation for the picture:  Thomas had walked up behind Joslyn and obviously could smell something so he bent over and sniffed her bottom.  He got a concerned look on his face and said, "Poopy!!"  He joined Lauralea and Kenzie on the couch and then Joslyn got on the chair and they were all complaining about the smell.  So we staged a little picture here.  :)   Which everyone enjoyed doing.

Mia was packing toys to the 'wrong' side of the room and Joslyn was after her for that.  She said, "I'm getting on her case!!"  Lauralea said, "She's still just a baby and we're not going to get on her case."  (They keep me laughing.)

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange and Joslyn was enjoying the food toys, and well basically everything else too.  She got some cheese and lunchmeat pieces (which are quite realistic in texture) and said to Peyton, "I got cheese for your baby!"  :)

Joslyn greeted Nora with a big hug when she arrived and she wanted Pat (Nora's dad) to notice what she was doing; "Lookit Pat!!"  He loved it.

She also cheered for Thomas when he put his bib on the right way.  "Yea!!"  He does not succeed with that very often and she 's obviously aware of it.  :)

Joslyn had 2nd's on breakfast: malt-o-meal cereal and raisins.  For lunch she ate ground beef with spaghetti sauce, ate whole wheat elbows, drank tomato soup, and had bites of mixed fruit.

Here's a picture of Joslyn singing with the microphone and playing the tambourine.  She was singing, "Jingle Bell Rock..."  :)  Oh, and she was wearing a dress-up vest too.

Yesterday at lunch Joslyn wanted 2nd's on canned cherries and they were all gone, but Emily had several that she hadn't even touched.  So Joslyn got those.  I left one on Emily's plate that I'd asked her to 'lick' (which she had) so she could have a taste.  Later she handed it to Joslyn and told her she could have that one too.  :)

Joslyn and Morgan were playing with the books and that was their "money" they were using at the store.  Morgan was 'scanning' them and they were saying, "pay, pay pay..."  :)

Joslyn was getting a kick out of a story Lauralea was telling the kids using two of the stuffed animals.  The animals were named Kenzie and Morgan.

Joslyn and Thomas were cheering for Nora when she was successful with putting the right shapes in the holes of the shape sorter.  They were also fetching more shapes for her and they had a big pile of them.

Joslyn ate raisin english muffin and 2nd's on blueberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken and crackers, most of steamed broccoli, and ate canned cherries.

Joslyn built a tall skinny legos tower and she was showing it to Peyton.  "Hey Peyton, look!!"  Peyton looks at it and then starts to lick it.  (Joslyn had been holding it up right in Peyton's face in front of her mouth.)  Joslyn said, "No! It's not ice cream!  It's a tower!"  :)

Joslyn saw Mia headed her way and I guess she'd had experience with Mia before because she started saying, "My stuff, my stuff....."  (with a look of panic on her face) and wrapping herself around all the toys in front of her.  :)

She was studying the family posters with Emily and she saw Emily's mom and said, "Cynthia! And then saw Emily's dad and said, "And that Mark!"

All of the 'older' kids (Joslyn, Morgan, Emily, Kenzie, Peyton) were doing "Ring around the rosie..."  They had the stuffed animals and were swinging them and spinning like crazy.  Then she and Morgan were playing and I heard Morgan say something about going to the bank to get some "cash" and going to the "Griz game."  :)

She rode in the swivel-rocker while Peyton and Emily were pushing it and she also played with lots of toys in the back rooms.

Joslyn ate biscuit and 2nd's on peaches for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite of baked beans, half of her dinner roll, ate corn, and half of pineapple.

Joslyn was standing on the building blocks and sliding along on the hardwood floor.  She said she was "skiing!"  Peyton, Emily, and Thomas joined in on the fun.

Joslyn and Thomas are the two most interested in having a front row seat for diaper changing time.  They make comments like, "just wet" or "EEEWWWW!" if it's poopy.  :)  (and they are the two most odorous ones here.)  I know odorous is a word, but I'm not sure if I used it correctly.  :)  But I like how it sounds.

Joslyn was talking on the phone and said, "hello!  Hi mom!"  Thomas asks, "That my mom?"  Joslyn said, "NO!"  I'm talking to my mom!"

Peyton was trying to take a book Joslyn had and Joslyn did a good job of using her words and using sign language and not screaming.  She said and signed, "Move back, move back!!"

Joslyn wanted Morgan to join her in a 'hiding' game like Emily and Kenzie were doing.  One would hide their eyes and other one would hide the toy.  Then they'd say, "Ready or not, here I come!"  Joslyn would 'hide' the toy and then point at it for Morgan; "It's right in there!"  Thomas joined in and would hide his eyes and say, "Ready, set, go!!"

Joslyn ate hash browns and 2nd's on waffle for breakfast.  For lunch she ate brown rice and red & yellow peppers; she had a lick of shrimp and licked the oranges.  :)

I took this picture yesterday of the kids having a birthday party.  Morgan is putting the "candle" (carrot-food toy) in the center of the table.  Then they were singing "Happy Birthday."  Notice Kenzie is singing using the celery (food toy) as her microphone.

Then in the back room this morning Joslyn was stacking some legos and that was a "birthday candle" she said.  She was singing "Happy Birthday" again.

When Nora arrived this morning Emily said to Joslyn, "Your Nora is here!"  She obviously knows they are buddies.

Joslyn sat in the chair for over 30 minutes this morning reading books to Emily and Thomas.  They were also playing other games, but I couldn't believe how long she sat there.  They were pretending to drive some where too as I heard Joslyn say they were in the car.

Emily filled the shapes bucket with shapes and asked, "Want some candy?"  Joslyn said, "Sure!!"  And of course Thomas and Peyton had to have some too.

Joslyn ate cheerios and banana for breakfast.  For lunch she ate three servings of toasted cheese sandwich (a serving is 1/4 of a full sandwich), ate lettuce salad, and apple pieces.

I'd taken a picture of Thomas with all the tambourines (five of them) lined up on his arm and I said it was very cute.  As soon as he put them down Joslyn had to put them on her arm and come and show me.  :)  Notice the smaller tambourine in her right hand too.

She was so happy to see Nora and they were just hugging on each other.  She was kind of testy and bossy with the other kids though.  She told Aaron, "Don't talk to me!!"  Then she and Thomas were fighting on the mattress.  It wasn't just Joslyn; everyone else was a bit tired and testy too after the big Holiday weekend.

We put up some winter and Christmas posters and Joslyn said, "Frosty the Snowman!!"

She read some books and I heard her singing, "The bear went over the mountain..."  She also played with lots of toys in the back room; legos, building blocks, and spinning in the swivel-rocking chair.

Joslyn ate toast with jelly and had 2nd's on dried mangoes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate beef & bean burrito, half of her sweet potatoes, and ate tropical fruit.

Colt is being a very good listener today and we appreciate that.  Good job Colt.  It's been quite hectic though because of it simply being different and several of the 'older' ones have been beside themselves
with excitement.  Colt said, "They kind of like to follow me!"  Yup, they do!

Here's a picture of Joslyn trying to keep up with the big brother.  I'm glad we have this place for them to jump and be a bit wild to burn up some energy.

The kids had a blast with Colt being here this morning.  He was trying to organize a game of hide-and-seek and with toddlers it's very similar to herding cats.  He did manage to get some of them to close their eyes and "count."  Which was pretty hilarious because there were 4 or 5 "counting" and 1 or 2 "hiding."  But it was all entertaining.

It's easy to know there is a hunter in the family; Colt was making sounds and said it was an "elk sound."  And Joslyn said it was a "buck snort!"

Joslyn ate cinnamon roll and dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of her scrambled eggs and waffle, bites of hash browns, and bites of cantaloupe.

Joslyn and Emily were sitting on the yellow bench reading some books.  They also played with some dolls, did some jumping, and went in the big box to escape the babies taking their toys.  Except now Mia can get up on the couch and into the big box.  And she's also walking so nobody is safe.  :)

The "row row" song came on and Joslyn was 'row rowing' with Peyton first and then Thomas.  Several of them were on the floor doing that.  I have to tell you a story about Thomas.  The "wheels on the bus" song came on and the verse was "the driver on the bus says move on back, move on back....."  Thomas starts doing sign language and saying, "move back!!   move back!!"  That's the phrase and sign we teach them when someone is in their space.

Joslyn snuggles with Lauralea almost every morning.  She was sitting beside her this morning with her arm looped through Lauralea's arm.  Lauralea had reached her hand up to scratch her nose and Joslyn said, "Hey!!"  And pulled her arm back down where it belonged.

Then Morgan had slapped Lauralea's hand (not on purpose; she and Kenzie were fighting and she was trying to slap Kenzie.) Joslyn immediately bent forward and kissed Lauralea's hand.

Joslyn ate kix cereal and a bite of mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ham sandwich, steamed broccoli, and mandarin oranges.

Joslyn was playing with the tambourines; not the right way, but that was ok.  :)  She was putting them on her head like a 'halo' and then rolling them across the floor.  And she was being real successful with the rolling thing.

She also played with the doctor toys and was putting the stethoscope up to Mia's chest.  Very briefly I might add.  If you're going to do something with Mia it has to be quick and decisive.  :)  And away she goes!

Lauralea was quizzing the kids about everyone's parent and what their names are.  Joslyn and Morgan were the primary ones answering the questions.  Joslyn was doing the best remembering all the names.  Thomas even got in on the act and surprised us.  Lauralea asked what Thomas' dad's name is and Thomas said, "Matt!!"  (before anyone else answered)

Joslyn was playing with the food toys and taking 'drinks' to Nora.  She'd take the cup to the faucet and fill it, then go give Nora a drink.  She did that several times.

Joslyn ate brown rice and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of her meat loaf, ate french bread, bite of carrots, and ate dried apricots.

I thought this was a cute picture of Joslyn doing "Patty Cake" with Mia.  Actually everything in the chair that preceded this was hilarious.  Joslyn was reading books and Mia climbed up there.  Then Joslyn wanted to read to her, but Mia wasn't about to sit still of course and it soon resembled a wrestling match because Joslyn REALLY wanted to read to her.  :)  Joslyn is pretty amazing with the babies.  She didn't get frustrated with Mia and just tried to find something to do with her that Mia would enjoy.

The doctor toys are out with this toy exchange and 'big bear' had to go to the doctor this morning.  He got a rip in one of his seams so it turned into a doctor visit.  :)  Three of them have their stethoscope and I guess Riley is just an active observer here.

And then came time for 'Big Bear' to get his stitches.  They were all mesmerized watching Lauralea use a needle.  You can see Mia at Lauralea's right elbow.  She was a little too over-eager of an assistant so she was removed from her position shortly after this picture was taken.  Joslyn said, "The bear is all fixed!!" when Lauralea was done.

We couldn't find Nora's shoe that she had taken off.  Joslyn found it after breakfast and she was so proud of herself.

Joslyn ate cinnamon toast and mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she had chicken strips, dinner roll, a bite of mashed potatoes, and ate canned cherries.

Did I tell you what Joslyn said after Nora's accident yesterday?  I think I did, but it's worth repeating; "Nora got paint on your shirt!"  (blood)

She was not happy that Peyton was trying to share a toy with her, but as soon as Nora moved over she was more than happy to let Nora play with her.  I think she plays 'favorites.'

She was using her words very well this morning instead of screaming.  To Thomas after he thunked her she said, "No!!  Move back!!"  Then again later to Thomas she said, "Move back PLEASE!!"  (I guess it was almost a scream!)  :)

The "Shoo fly don't bother me..." song came on and Joslyn said, "That's my song!!"  Thomas was just waiting for the next song to come on and I don't think he listened or even cared what it was.  He said, "That my ong!!"  :)   (that's not a misprint)

Joslyn ate peaches and half of her whole wheat bagel for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ham, three helpings of mac-n-cheese, ate lettuce salad, and corn.

Joslyn was playing in the big box with some dolls and blankets.  I'm not exactly sure how she toppled over backwards, but she thunked the back of her head on the box.  Lauralea wanted to know where she got hurt.  (on her body)  And as usual, that's not an easy question for kids this age to answer.  Joslyn said, "In the box!"  This picture is where she sat for a long time hanging on to her Lauralea.

Nora's Great Grandma (one of them) bought the day care a "Curious George" book and Lauralea is reading it to the kids.  Joslyn liked having Nora sit on her lap for story time.

Nora had spit out 'something' after breakfast.  (out in the big room)  Joslyn wanted to know; "Why did a goober just come out of Nora's mouth?"  :)

Joslyn did some puzzles, read books, played with the cars on the ramp again, and did a good job of listening this morning.  Way to go Joslyn!

Joslyn ate pears and three helpings of waffles for breakfast.  For lunch she ate tuna and crackers, bites of sweet potatoes, and a bite of oranges.

Lauralea went to get Noah's blanket so Joslyn gladly kept watch over him until Lauralea returned.  I like how her hand is wrapped around his head in this picture.  Earlier she had been holding a 'kitty' in front of him and saying, "meow."

I guess Joslyn didn't like the feel of the poop in her diaper because she asked me, "Will you change my poop Gary?"  I don't know about that Joslyn, but I will change your diaper.

There were a few snow flakes coming down this morning and Lauralea had mentioned that it was snowing.  Joslyn said, "Mom and dad get to go skiing!"  That was a very good application of what she'd just heard.

She also played with the doll, did "backflips" on the mattress, lots of building with the legos, and played with the cars in the back room.

Joslyn ate half of her rice chex cereal and most of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate roast beef sandwich, 2nd's on tomato soup, and ate apple slices.

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange this weekend so everyone was very busy.  Joslyn played with the food toys, microphones, and the doctor toys.  (especially the stethoscope)

Oh, before I forget, she may have a bruise or bite mark on her left shoulder this afternoon.  I'll check it as soon as she wakes up from her nap.  She and Peyton had a little confrontation as Peyton was trying to join her in the chair.  (She pushed on Peyton and Peyton immediately chomped down.)

Joslyn had the dolls all wrapped up and their beds were the fireman's hats.  Then Joslyn announced that she was taking them to "the dentist."

She also enjoyed the cars, airplanes, shaped sorters, boats, legos, and building blocks in the back rooms.  She kind of forgets about Nora and Noah when there is a toy exchange and everything is new. We have some ramps that she was using for the cars and then she was filling the airplanes full of other toys.

Joslyn ate her oatmeal and had a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of her hash brown casserole, bites of biscuit, and ate half of her mandarin oranges.

At art time the kids played (drawing) with the 'magna doodles.'  Joslyn and Morgan played with theirs way longer than anyone else.  Joslyn said, "Look at my eyes!"  And she'd made two big dots inside of a circle.  I was impressed because it was quite representational of some eyes.

Emily and Joslyn were having a discussion at the lunch table about the mittens they brought this morning to daycare.  Thomas says, "I have mitten!!"  Joslyn's reply; "You don't have huge-mungous ones like Emily and me!!!"  Oh man that was funny.  I love that word!  The comedy never ends!

Joslyn was kind of 'spacing out' at breakfast and not eating.  Just staring into space.  :)  Emily said to her, "Eat your food sweetie!"

Yesterday afternoon I had changed Joslyn's poopy diaper and Lauralea said to her; "You smell so much better!!"  So Joslyn starts backing-up to her and says, "Yeah! Smell my butt!"  Have I mentioned the part about comedy never ending....?

Morgan, Joslyn, and Kenzie were talking about going to each other's house.  Actually it started with Morgan talking about watching movies.  Joslyn immediately asks, "Can I go to your house Morgan?"  Then she said, "Can I see your house Kenzie?"  Kenzie shakes her head no and says, "No."  So Joslyn said, "You wanna come to my house?"  And Kenzie says, "Sure!!"  And on it goes......

Joslyn ate bites of french bread and most of her cantaloupe for breakfast.  For lunch she had turkey slices, crescent roll, half of her acorn squash, and ate dried mangoes.

Joslyn had wrapped this blanket around herself and Lauralea said she looked like "Mary."  (As in the mother of Jesus in many Christmas programs we've seen.)  So Thomas grabs a blanket and wraps it around himself and says, "I Mary!!"  So Emily grabs a blanket wraps herself and proclaims, "I have to get Married!!"  Like I've told you many times Melanie, the comedy never ends.  :)

Then Joslyn was using the blanket to cover up and pretend to take a nap.  Thomas and Peyton joined her in that play too.  Soon Peyton was too close for Joslyn and she headed across the room to finish taking her "nap" somewhere else.  :)

Joslyn did a pretty good job of using her words today.  She started to howl and I reminded her to tell me what happened.  "Peyton poked me!!"  So then I had her tell Peyton, "I didn't like that!!"

Joslyn and Morgan were having the cutest conversation in front of Joslyn's family poster.  Morgan was quizzing her and Joslyn was answering every question.  "What's his name?"  "Daddy Brett."  "What's her name?"  "Momma Melanie."  "What's Grandma's name again?"  "Grandma Judy."   Super super cute.

Joslyn ate half of her whole wheat toast and ate mixed berries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ham, half of bean & bacon soup, ate crackers, and half of kiwi.

Joslyn was hiding under the big bear and said, "Look Gary!"  So of course I had to grab the camera and said, "Don't move Joslyn!"  :)  Very cute.

Here's a picture of Joslyn at the table with Nora and Peyton.  (Peyton was only there briefly, but Joslyn and Nora played right there for at least 20 minutes.)  She is so good with Nora and they basically adore each other.  :)  Notice that Joslyn has a cell phone and she's in the middle of an important conversation.

Joslyn had a backpack stuffed full of goodies and was playing in the big box with them.  Nora was standing outside the box watching.  Then Nora started stroking and petting Joslyn's hair.  Joslyn immediately reached back, took Nora's hand, and kissed it.  Very sweet.

Joslyn also played for awhile in the igloo with Kenzie and Morgan.  I was anxiously expecting the igloo to explode, but it never did.  Whew!!!

Joslyn had a bite of whole wheat bagel and ate half of dried apricots for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a bite of tilapia, ate whole wheat elbow noodles with peas and cheese, and ate applesauce.

Joslyn was at the window waving bye to Thomas' mom. She was intently watching Thomas and started laughing at him.  Well he smacked the window and she laughed harder.  You can see where this is going so I redirected them while the window was still intact.  :)

Nora was so happy to see that Joslyn was back.  When she arrived her eyes locked on Joslyn and she was reaching for her and squealing with delight.  Which made Joslyn happy and she said, "Nora saw me!!"  :)

Joslyn was pretty exhausted by nap time and she wasn't even the last one asleep today!  You know Joslyn is too tired when she starts getting exasperated with Nora.  (about fifteen minutes before lunch)  That rarely happens.

Joslyn asked to do the puzzles and then Kenzie joined her.  They played together with the puzzles and also jumping on the big bear.

All the kids were checking out Emily's pretty shoes with all the 'bling' on them.  Sorry, I just couldn't think of anything else to call it.  :)

Joslyn had a big smile on her face most of the morning.  Except for the times when she was yelling.  :)  She likes her routine and it probably felt good to her to be back in her routine.

Joslyn ate a serving of whole wheat english muffin and ate blueberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken and crackers, ate corn, and canned cherries.

Joslyn was sitting and playing with a cell phone and said she was "watching a movie" on the phone.  Then she started singing, "Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb...."  THEN it was "Mary had a pink butt, pink butt, pink butt....."  This is just an FYI thing; she did NOT learn that here.  :)  Yup, it was pretty stinking funny.

Mia crawled up on the table and started pestering Joslyn and she yelled, "No Mia No!"  Then she stopped and thought about it for a minute and said to herself, "I'm moving to the other side!"  Good job Joslyn!  Good job of thinking that through and coming up with a solution.

Some more cell phone play; Joslyn, Emily, Morgan, Kenzie, and Peyton each had a cell phone and you should have heard that conversation.  I swear they sounded like a pack of teenagers.  "I have a call!"  "I'm watching a movie!"  "Who is this?"  and on and on.  It was very entertaining.

Joslyn did some building with the legos, played with the dolls, jumped on the mattress, loved on Nora, pushed the little cars down the little ramps, and she was so cute sucking her thumb and cuddling on the big bear.

Joslyn ate peaches and half of her biscuit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate most of her baked beans, steamed broccoli, and pineapple.  She ate a dinner roll too.

Joslyn was proud of herself for being able to get on the frog suit by herself.  It's actually a pretty tight fit so it's not that easy for her.

The kids had fun working on the halloween wreath that Emily's family brought for the daycare.  The pieces were sticky and they arranged them any way they wanted to.  You can Joslyn working very carefully and intently.

Joslyn was playing with an 'owl clock' and it was her "TV".  Nora was sitting beside her and Joslyn said, "There's a movie on we're gonna watch!"  Then; "I gotta movie for me and Nora!"

Joslyn was super sensitive first thing this morning right before breakfast.  After breakfast she did just fine.  She was saying things like; "Thomas is talking to me!!  Thomas is looking at me!!"  :)

And we did some practicing 'Trick or Treat' and what they are supposed to say.  So we'll see if any of them remember.

Joslyn ate waffle and hash browns for breakfast.  For lunch she ate shrimp, brown rice, red peppers, and a bite of oranges.

This first picture is Joslyn hugging Riley.  They were having so much fun on the mattress; rolling around, laughing and giggling.  Nora was watching from inside the igloo and she didn't really like it.  She gets a little freaked out when the kids are a bit rowdy and I think she also wanted Joslyn to pay attention to her instead of Riley.

Joslyn had worked hard to build these two towers and was guarding them pretty close.  After I took this picture Nora started howling like her heart was broken.  She just couldn't believe that her Joslyn did not want her to touch those towers.  :)

Thomas was playing on the cell phones jabbering to someone.  If you ask him who he's talking to he'll almost always say, "Mommy!"  Joslyn asked him; "Are you talking to my mom?"  He said, "Ya!"  :)

I asked Joslyn if she wanted to poop on the toilet and she answered very politely; "No thank you."  Well at least she was being polite.

Joslyn and Emily were talking and Joslyn said to her; "What in the world!?!.....you walk over here.....jabber jabber jabber....."  I could not understand too much of it, but I liked how it began.  :)

Joslyn ate cheerios and bananas for breakfast.  For lunch she ate lots of toasted cheese sandwich, drank tomato soup, and ate apple slices.

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange and Joslyn was totally engaged all morning.  As you can see in the picture below she had three of the 'new' babies lined up on the chair and she was giving them all instructions of some kind.  :)

There were several crows outside sitting and eating in the road.  Then they flew up in the tree.  Thomas had not seen where they went and he was asking for Joslyn's assistance.  "Josie where?  Josie where?"  So Joslyn pointed to them and then she went back to playing with her dolls and we heard her say, "stinking crows!"  :)

Joslyn played with the backpacks and had them stuffed with toys.  She accumulated lots of them.  Then she rounded up several cell phones too.  She was 'talking' on the phone and we heard her say, "Yes, I'm at daycare!"  :)

She played with the drums in the back room and was trying to give Nora some lessons.  Joslyn was singing, "Nora Nora, Open the door-a."

Joslyn ate oatmeal and dried cranberries for breakfast.  For lunch she ate half of her ground beef, ate whole wheat elbow noodles with peas and cheese, and ate applesauce.

Joslyn, Kenzie, and Emily were using the books for their "money."  They would hand the "money" to each other and say, "Pay, pay..."

This picture is a bit light with the window right there, but you still get the idea of what they were doing.  Thomas was sitting on the step in front of Joslyn and she was fixing his hair.  I was a bit slow getting the camera, but he had this cute dreamy look on his face and she was really rubbing his head.  Those two played together a lot after breakfast.

Thomas and Joslyn were playing with the stuffed animals and when this song, "Waltzing Matilda.." was finished Jolsyn told Thomas the song was, "Bouncing the Children!"  :)  Lauralea confirmed that I'd heard correctly.  Oh man, we laughed.  So I've been singing, "bouncing the children, bouncing the children, we'll go a bouncing the children today....."  I like that song.

Joslyn said that daddy got a "bull elk!"  Not just any elk, but a "bull elk."  :)  Good job Joslyn!

Joslyn was racing to meet every one of Nora's needs today; the real ones and all the 'false alarms' as well.  Nora would yell when Mia or Thomas would get close and Joslyn was right there to correct any misdeeds or replace any toys they 'stole' from Nora.

Joslyn ate blueberry bread pudding and 2nd's on blueberries for breakfast.  For lunch she had three servings of turkey burger (on bun), ate green beans, and kiwi.

Joslyn 'allowed' me to take her to our living room and show off her maybelline (sp?) eyelashes to Christina (my daughter) and her husband.  She didn't act very shy at all and seemed quite proud of those eyelashes.  :)

I think I mentioned this already this week, but again today when the song "Jesus loves me" came on Joslyn said, "Alyana's song!!"  Sometimes it's hard to remember what I've wrote in each journal from day to day.  :)

Joslyn asked to go do puzzles with Kenzie.  She did several of them.  She doesn't ask to do puzzles very often, but when she does she seems to enjoy it and she works at it for a long time.

Oh yes, when she asked for more blueberries at breakfast she said, "I want more grapes!"  (which I thought was cute and funny)  Then when she was washing her face she said, "I wash over the sink!"  She was proud of herself because I've reminded her to do that rather than get water all over the floor.  However, I (with my minimally-functioning ears) thought she said, "I wash off the stink!"  I laughed hard and repeated that.  She looked at me like I'd lost my mind.  Which made me laugh more.  And that's how it goes in our humorous life at daycare.  :)

Joslyn and Peyton were sitting in the swivel-rocker and Emily was pushing and making it spin.  Joslyn said, "Go faster and faster!"  At least I think that's what she said.  :)

Joslyn ate peaches and 2nd's on jelly toast for breakfast.  For lunch she ate beef & bean burrito, bite of sweet potato, and ate tropical fruit.

Joslyn played with the dolls and food toys.  She was feeding her baby and said, "Here's your last bite baby."  Then she decided to do it again; "Here's your nother last bite."  She did that at least three times.  Of course she then realized we were laughing about it and she said, "This is cute when I feed my baby!"  :)  Now that's comedy!

Kenzie was asking Joslyn to help roll up her sleeves while they were waiting to wash at breakfast time. Joslyn frequently helps others do things like that.  She's a good little helper and she enjoys it.

She was wearing sunglasses, rubber rain boots, and a dress-up shirt and reading books in the chair.  I told Lauralea it was a good look for visiting the library.  She reminded me of a little eccentric old lady.

She was playing with Emily and Thomas and they were eating ice cream.  Joslyn said, "We're having ice cream and I'm eating chocolate!"  It was even the right color.  (which I verified with Lauralea!)  Then she bumped against the big box and said, "I bonked my skin!!"

Joslyn also played with the legos.  I love how engaged she gets with them and she'll build for a long long time.  It's such a good example for the other kids and now Peyton is really getting into the legos.

Joslyn ate plums and 2nd's on cinnamon roll for breakfast.  For lunch she ate scrambled eggs, most of waffle, a bite of hash browns, and ate cantaloupe.

Joslyn was a bit sensitive today; so she got several extra snuggles to fill her love tank.  She also had to take a break for screaming rather than using her words.  She was sitting in the 'lunch room' and she had quieted down and I was just about to go get her.  Then she started screaming again and I went to see what was going on.  "There's a spider!"  And she was right.  I found him and he was kind of large.  Hopefully she won't need too much therapy later in life.  :)

She was going off the climber backwards onto the mattress and trying to 'teach' Thomas how it's done.  She was telling him to watch her and then do it.  :)  She was also putting her hands in her pockets and jumping.   Thomas was wanting to be her puppy and was crawling over to her, but she was more interested in jumping.  :)

Joslyn invited Peyton to join her in the swivel-rocker chair in the back room.  Emily was pushing them and they were spinning pretty fast.  Then she was pushing and Emily let Thomas join her in the chair.  She copied what I said to Emily; "That was very sweet of you!"

She was taking care of Nora again of course.  Nora was reaching for a dinosaur and Joslyn promptly retrieved one for her.  It's amazing they ever learn to crawl or walk when Joslyn's around.  There is really no reason to; she meets all their needs.  :)  Or at least their 'wants.'

Joslyn ate kix cereal and half of mixed fruit for breakfast.  For lunch she ate 2nd's on ham sandwich, 2nd's on steamed broccoli, and ate mandarin oranges.

Joslyn spotted Peyton's coat while she was eating breakfast and said, "Peyton, I love your coat!"  Peyton said, "Yah!"  It's white with silver snowflakes.

Kenzie and Riley were at the farm for about ten days and for a few minutes this morning Joslyn could not keep her hands off Riley.  She was following her all over and trying to love on her.  Basically driving Riley nuts.  :)

Nora needed some alone space so we put her in the box to play.  Here's a picture of Joslyn attending to her needs; taking her some toys and a blanket.  Notice Joslyn is also on the phone.  :)  Multi-tasking.

Emily was gone all last week too and was telling us about what she saw in the aquarium.  Joslyn said, "I didn't see a crab at the carium!"  :)

Joslyn had some sunglasses on her forehead and was nodding her head up and down fast to make them flop up and down too.  She knew she was being funny and she was laughing.

Joslyn ate brown rice and raisins for breakfast.  For lunch she ate ground burger, french bread, corn, and a bite of carrots.

Joslyn and Morgan played together again on several different occasions.  They were dragging the big bear around and having fun with it.  Joslyn said they were "hauling bear around."  They had tried to drag him in the igloo, but only got the head in.  So I told them to peek out and I took this picture.  Joslyn is on our left side.

Lauralea said she was "chilly" and she wrapped herself with a blanket this morning.  Of course Joslyn and Morgan had to do the same thing.  They kept saying, "I'm a little chilly!"  Even Thomas got in on the act and had a blanket draped around his shoulders too.

Joslyn was on her hands and knees working on something.  Nora made her way over there and laid her head on Joslyn's back and then wrapped her arms around Joslyn.  Well that was all cute and fine, but now Joslyn turned around to see who it was.  And in the process she knocked Nora sideways and then accidentally ended up sitting on Nora.  Nora was not happy with this sudden turn of events.  :)

Joslyn was sitting in the chair and Morgan was trying to force her way up too.  So Lauralea had to intervene and helped Morgan ask if she could join Joslyn.  Morgan said, "Where can we sit that we can sit together?"  Joslyn immediately scooted over and made room for her.  (And everyone lived happily ever after.)    :)

Joslyn ate cinnamon toast and 2nd's on grapes for breakfast.  For lunch she ate chicken strips, whole wheat dinner roll, bites of hash browns, and ate canned cherries.

The first thing Joslyn did was ask to play with the puzzles.  She did that for 20 minutes and Morgan joined her too.  Speaking of Morgan; Joslyn and her have been playing together a lot this week.  Emily and Kenzie are both gone all week so the options have slimmed right down.  They were playing at the table with the food toys and Morgan looks up and says; "Josey and I are being nice to each other!"  There was this incredulous tone to her voice.  Yes Morgan, we are just as surprised as you are!  :)

For this second picture I couldn't get the camera soon enough, but it's still cute.  Nora had her head laying on the mattress just like Joslyn and they were laughing and looking at each other.  Nora really likes her own space, but she and Joslyn have a special connection and she allows Joslyn to 'maul' her a little bit.  Not so much with everyone else!

Joslyn heard a song come on and she says, "Nick Nack Paddy Man!"  Which was very close.  It's "Nick Nack Paddy Wack!"  :)

She was pushing the swivel-rocker as fast as her legs could travel.  (giving a ride to Thomas and Peyton)  I don't know what triggered this thought, but she said, "I'm going shopping with Mommy!  Get another dress!!  :)

Joslyn ate most of her breakfast: whole wheat bagel and peaches.  For lunch she ate ham, 2nd's on mac-n-cheese, ate lettuce salad (ranch dressing), and corn.

After eating all but one bite of peaches for breakfast Joslyn said, "I don't like this peaches!"  It may have been because she saw a 'spot' on the peach.  Then at lunch she was trying to eat everything on her plate so she could have 2nd's on mac-n-cheese.  She saw Lauralea take some and she panicked; "Don't eat it all Lauralea!!"

She was loving on baby Noah and she touched his knee and said, "I love you muchly!!"  Ohhhhh, how sweet.

Joslyn was trying to instruct Thomas this morning.  Actually it all started with Peyton taking someone's toys, but I guess Joslyn thought Thomas needed a reminder too.  :)  She got right down in front of him (very much in his space) and said, "Don't take anyone's stuff!!  Ok Tom Tom?"  :)  So Thomas dutifully nods his head.

Thomas and Peyton were laying in the box pretending to sleep and Joslyn was covering them with a blanket and told them, "I'm going to put you to sleep!"  :)  Then she said, "Thomas is going to wake up and I drive him quick quick to the grocery store!!"  Does that sound familiar?

Nora was playing the musical keyboards with her feet (mostly toes).  Joslyn thought that was so funny. And then Thomas started laughing too.  Nora was very happy that they were laughing at her.

Joslyn ate waffle and pears for breakfast.  For lunch she ate tuna and crackers, sweet potatoes, and oranges.  She worked hard to eat all her sweet potatoes so she could have 2nd's on crackers.

Aaron was playing with Nora and I asked him if he loved Nora.  From across the room Joslyn yelled, "I love Nora!!!"  In a tone that said, 'she's my girl!!"  :)

Then at the breakfast table Thomas was saying something about Nora and Joslyn felt compelled to tell him how to pronounce her name properly.  "Not Noooowa!!  Nooooora!!"  :)  Thank you teacher !

Well I had to have some entertainment so I had Joslyn look through the viewfinder and identify some pictures for me.  :)  The first animal was a hippo.  What's this?  "Fox!!"  (You can make up your own jokes here)  Next picture were flamingoes.  What's this?  "Chicken!"  Next picture was a zebra.  What's this?  "Zebra!!"  Oh rats!  She got it right.  :)

Peyton snuggled in by Joslyn in this picture to read some books.  I like how Joslyn has stuffed books down beside her which greatly decreases the amount of sitting space available for the girls.

Right before I took this second picture Joslyn had been covering her face with the book and Nora was laughing hard.  By the time I got the camera Joslyn was done covering her face was now reading the book, but Nora was still laughing.

Joslyn ate most of chex cereal and a bite of fruit salad for breakfast.  For lunch she ate a meatball, whole wheat bread, bite of broccoli-cauliflower salad, and ate apple slices.

This actually happened on Friday, but I forgot to tell you.  Joslyn had her hand up to her mouth and was making funny sounds and I couldn't figure it out so I asked her what she was doing.  She said, "It's a buck snort!!"  Daddy should be proud.  :)

We did a toy, book, and puzzle exchange and Joslyn played with the dolls, blankets, and food toys first.  She also played with the swim goggles and sunglasses.  I took this picture of the 'blues sisters.'

She was wanting to look in the viewfinder of this little camera toy that has pictures of animals in it.  So I held it up for her to see (a giraffe).  She said, "a mouse?"  I laughed.  Then some recognition; "A deer!!"  So then I showed her a picture of an elephant and she said, "It's not a mouse is it?"  :)  They are not the easiest toys to see through the viewfinder, but her answers always make me laugh.  And she likes making me laugh.

Joslyn was still sitting at the breakfast table and I was on my hands and knees cleaning under the table.  She's patting me on the back and then laying her head on my back.  I love you too sweetie, but that's not real helpful.  :)

Lauralea's shirt today is made of soft cotton; flannel material I think.  Anyhow, Joslyn asked her, "Why do you have on jammy shirt?"  :)

Joslyn ate oatmeal and a bite of dried plums for breakfast.  For lunch she ate everything; hash brown casserole, biscuit, and mandarin oranges.

As you know we do toy exchange every two weeks and let the kids help us fill the washer.  Here's a picture of Joslyn doing some loading.  She is always very careful and meticulous about getting every item in there.  Which is in stark contrast to Thomas' approach.  He has the biggest armload he can possibly manage and dumps it all in at once.  In his journal today I included a picture of the items of his that made it into the garbage can instead of the washer.  :)

We were listening to kid's songs and everyone was playing.  "Jesus love me" came on and Joslyn says, "That's Alayna's song!!"  And she's right.  No one has mentioned Alayna lately and I like how something will prick their memory like that.  Very cute.

Joslyn and Thomas had another funny exchange this morning.  Thomas came to me for help getting his shoes off so he could join Joslyn on the climber.  So we got them off and I told him to put his shoes on the changing table (which he has done many times).  He turns to Joslyn and extends the shoes to her and says, "elp."  (help)  She laughs at him and says, "You don't need help!!!"  :)  I loved it.

Joslyn's motherly instincts came out again as usual.  :)  We were in the back room and Aaron picked up a toy that was sitting in front of Nora.  (it's a spinning toy that she really likes).  Nora started yelling like crazy and Aaron ran behind the chair and hid, but still clutching the toy of course.  Joslyn sprints for Nora to comfort her.  Good job Joslyn.  :)
